Based in the firm’s Annapolis office, Adam’s experience in personal injury and medical malpractice law encompasses cases that range from automobile and workplace accidents, to spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, to wrongful death and survival action claims. He is also well-versed in lawsuits alleging emergency room, anesthesia and surgical errors as well as claims of negligence resulting from medical care provided in hospital, outpatient, doctor’s offices or nursing home settings.
Insurance companies also rely on Adam’s counsel to advance their positions in coverage disputes. His clerkship with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Health Education and Advocacy Unit, where he mediated health claims and insurance disputes, gave him the opportunity to understand issues from both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s perspectives. He is also known for his robust defense of medical professionals in licensing matters and investigations, including representing them before various state boards and regulatory agencies, and for advancing the positions of businesses and individuals in complex commercial litigation.
Adam defends chiropractors in both licensing and medical malpractice actions, and is often retained by their insurers. He achieved a major victory for a chiropractor and the insurance company in a federal court trial, avoiding medical malpractice cases against the practitioner and millions of dollars in damages sought by the plaintiff.
Outside of his legal practice, Adam is involved in the Adopt-a-Family program administered by the Anne Arundel County Department of Human Resources and enjoys competing with fellow attorneys in bar association golf tournaments. He and his wife, Mary, share their Anne Arundel County home with Taylor, their black lab.
