Ali Cheema is an Associate Attorney in the Firm's Business and Real Estate practice, where he advises clients across a broad spectrum of legal matters including alcoholic beverage licensing and compliance, business law, land use and zoning, and real estate transactions. Ali brings a strong foundation in both legal theory and practical experience, having served in multiple judicial internships and judicial clerkships that shaped his understanding of Maryland’s legal landscape.

Ali earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he also served as a student-attorney in the Civil Advocacy Clinic. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Technology Administration from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. His legal training includes internships with the Appellate Court of Maryland under the Hon. Judge Douglas R.M. Nazarian and the Supreme Court of Maryland under the Hon. Justice Jonathan Biran, as well as a clerkship with the District Court for Baltimore City.

Ali is admitted to practice in Maryland and is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Maryland.

In his practice, Ali helps clients navigate complex regulatory frameworks, secure licenses and entitlements, and resolve disputes through negotiation, arbitration, and litigation. His work spans commercial and residential real estate, business transactions, and compliance matters, with a focus on delivering strategic and practical solutions.

A lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, Ali grew up working in his family’s business and is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading books on business and emotional intelligence, working on cars, and engaging in hobbies like board games, Legos, running, hiking, and taking walks with his dad.
